1# OE LG Washing Machine Error Code
You started the wash, and after a while you found that the LG washing machine with a display gave an OE error on the screen and stopped full of water. This error appears during the washing or rinsing phase.
LG cars without a display can signal this error as follows:
- all rinse indicators are on or flashing at the same time
- spin indicators 800, 500 and No spin (800 rpm, 500 rpm and No spin) are on or flashing at the same time
LG OE Error Code Explanation And Trouble Shooting
The OE code means that the LG washing machine for some reason could not drain the water from the tank within the allotted period of time (in different models it varies from 5 to 8 minutes). The error could be caused by both minor problems that you can fix yourself, and serious malfunctions that require the intervention of a professional technician.
First of all, you need to drain the water from the washing machine by hand and remove the laundry. You can find detailed instructions on how to do this in the article.
How To Fix OE Error LG Washing Machine
- Check the drain hose of the washing machine for blockages or kinks.
- If the drain of the washing machine is routed to the sink siphon, check the connection of the drain hose to the drain. Very often, a blockage in the siphon knee prevents water from draining from the machine and leads to an error.
- Check the drain for blockages, especially if the washing machine is drained through a separate drain.
- Check your washing machine pump filter for clogging. To do this, you need to unscrew the filter plug, which is located in a small hatch in front of the washing machine at the bottom of it.
- It is possible that there was simply a failure in the control board (electronic controller) of the washing machine. Try unplugging the machine and plugging it back in 10 to 20 minutes later.
Probable malfunctions requiring repair
In the table you can see a list of the most common malfunctions that cause the OE error.
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
LG machine does not drain and shows error 0E | Drain pump defective. It burned out due to small objects falling into it or voltage drops in the network. | The drain pump needs to be replaced. |
The LG washing machine has stopped with water and "writes" error 0E on the display. After manually draining the water and trying to restart it, the machine does not draw water. | The pressure switch (water pressure sensor), which controls the water level in the drum of the machine, is out of order. The washing machine "does not understand" how much water is in the tank and therefore does not drain. | In some cases, the malfunction is eliminated by blowing the pressure switch tube (if there is a blockage in it). If this does not help, then it is necessary to replace the pressure sensor (pressure switch). |
In the LG washing machine, the drain does not work, and an OE error is displayed on the screen. When you try to restart it (you first need to manually drain the water from the tank), the machine draws water and erases it until the first water drain, on which it hangs and gives an error. | Washer drain or pump clogged. Coins, buttons, and other small items are often the cause of the blockage. | It is necessary to disassemble the washing machine and clear the blockage. |
Washing machine gives error 0E and does not drain | The control unit (programmer or electronic controller) is out of order - a microcircuit, which is the "brain" of the washing machine. Usually, the elements of the microcircuit that control the drain burn out. | If the processor of the control board is in working order, then it is necessary to replace the burned out elements and to solder the burned-out tracks on the board. Otherwise, a complete replacement of the control unit is required. |
2# DE LG Washing Machine Error Code
The LG washing machine with the display stopped during the wash, rinse or spin phase and displayed a DE error on the screen. When you restart the machine, it immediately writes the error DE, and the door of the unit is not blocked.
In LG washing machines without a display, with this error, all temperature indicators, washing and rinsing indicators flash or light up at the same time.
LG DE Error Code Expalnation And Trouble Shooting
Washing machine door not closed
How To Fix DE Error LG Washing Machine
- Check if there is anything obstructing the closing of the washing machine door. Maybe linen got between it and the tank or the rubber cuff “jammed”.
- Check if the “tongue” is in the lock, maybe something got into the hole of the lock, so the door does not close.
- Look at the washer door hinges. Perhaps, due to their wear, the door is warped and therefore the tongue does not fall into the lock. Try to adjust them.
- Try to open the hatch and close it again, perhaps the error will disappear.
- There may be a malfunction in the control module of the washing machine. Try unplugging the power cord for 10-20 minutes and then plugging your LG machine back in.
Probable malfunctions requiring repair
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
Error DE is on, the door of the machine is not locked. The lock indicator may also be on. | Defective sunroof locking device (UBL). | Replacement of UBL is required. |
The LG clipper stopped during the washing, rinsing or spinning process and displayed a DE error. When you try to run the program again, an error always pops up. In addition, you may smell a burning smell and light up the lock indicator on the control panel of the washing machine. | The display unit is out of order - a microcircuit that "controls" the operation of the washing machine. | Usually, either the relay responsible for locking the door burns out on the control unit, or the tracks "burn out". Therefore, it is enough to do with the repair of the board: to solder the "burned out" tracks or contacts, or to replace the burned out elements (mainly a relay or a triac). |
The LG washing machine does not close, the hatch handle works somehow strangely, when the program starts, the machine gives a DE error and does not erase. The lock indicator on the machine body may light up | The washing machine door handle is broken. | Handle replacement required. |
The door of the machine does not close, the door mount is damaged. | The washing machine hatch hinge has broken | If the adjustment of the loop did not help, then it needs to be replaced. |
The table provides a list of breakdowns that cause the DE error in LG washing machines.
3# LG Washing Machine – LE Error Code
You started washing as usual, the LG machine took in water, tried to spin the drum several times and gave an LE error on the display. Moreover, the drum does not rotate at any program and stage of its execution (washing, rinsing, spinning), but freely scrolls by hand. Sometimes the drum starts to rotate, but not at full “force” with strong vibration and rumbling sound. The drum may also twitch.
The error is typical for LG direct drive washing machines.
LG LE Error Code Explanation And Trouble Shooting
The LE code means that a motor lock has occurred in your washing machine for some reason. This could result from both “trifling” problems that can be eliminated on their own, and serious malfunctions that require professional repair.
LE error Code in LG Washing Machine – how to fix it yourself
- Try reopening and closing the washing machine door until you hear a click. You may not have closed it tightly the first time.
- Unplug the clipper for 10 to 15 minutes and then plug it back on. The electronic controller (control module) may have failed.
- It happens that the cause of the LE error is the washing machine overloading on delicate wash programs (Hand wash, Wool, Silk). In this case, an error code usually appears during the spinning phase. Reduce the weight of the loaded laundry.
- Check that no small object (coin, bra bone) mechanically blocks the drum from rotating. If so, you need to remove it by disassembling the tank of the washing machine.
- Check the voltage in the mains, often the LG machine shows the LE code in case of undervoltage.
Possible malfunctions requiring repair
The table below provides a list of breakdowns that can cause an LE error in an LG clipper, and require the intervention of a professional technician.
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | occurrence Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
The drum does not rotate, the washing machine hums and the LE error is on | Defective tachogenerator, which consists of one or more Hall sensors and controls the rotation speed of the washing machine engine. | As a rule, one of the Hall sensors or one of the resistors located after the Hall sensors fails in the tachogenerator. Their replacement is required. |
The machine does not spin the drum, but the display shows this error | One of the washing machine motor windings burned out. | You will need to replace the stator (if only its winding has burned out) or a complete replacement of the motor. |
The LG machine stops during the washing, rinsing or spinning phase and writes the LE error | The control module (electronic controller) is faulty - a microcircuit that "controls" the operation of the washing machine. | Sometimes it is enough to restrict ourselves to repairing the module: to solder the tracks, contacts and replace the burnt-out elements (resistors, etc.). If the processor fails or the module is severely melted, it will need to be replaced. |
The car door does not lock, and the LE error is displayed on the screen | The hatch blocking device (UBL) is out of order. | Replacement of UBL is required. |
The washing machine does not close, while the hatch handle moves suspiciously freely. Display shows LE error | The door handle or lock of the washing machine is mechanically damaged. | Replacement of damaged elements is required. |
LG machine does not block the door and writes this error | There was a "break" in the UBL wiring, it is possible that the contacts have come off or the wires are frayed. | It is required to check the contacts of the loops of wires that go to the hatch blocking device, and the wires themselves. If they are frayed, it is necessary to replace the corresponding loop. |
#4 LG Washing Machine AE Error Code
For LG washing machines with a screen – the AE or AOE error is on.
LG AE Error Code Explanation
An automatic shutdown error has occurred.
How to fix it yourself
- There may be a malfunction in the washing machine control unit. Try unplugging the washing machine and turning it back on after 10-20 minutes.
- A possible cause of the AE or AOE error is the appearance of water in the pan of the washing machine (for LG machines equipped with the Aqvastop leakage protection system). Check all connections inside the machine that come in contact with water. Perhaps some of the connecting clamp has come off, so the washing machine is leaking, the float sensor is triggered and an error appears.
Possible malfunctions requiring repair
The table below shows the possible malfunctions of the LG washing machine that cause this error, and their symptoms.
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
During water intake or washing mode, the washing machine stops and displays the AE or A0E code. | Malfunction in the control unit | If the processor is in good working order, it is enough to do with repairs: re-solder the burned-out elements of the control board. In the event of a processor breakdown, the display module must be replaced. |
The LG washing machine with Aquastop anti-leakage system is leaking. Water appears in the sump, the float sensor floats up and the leakage protection system is triggered. At this point, an AE or AOE error appears. | Due to the fungus or hit by a sharp object, the rubber cuff of the hatch has leaked. | In case of minor damage, the cuff can be glued. The most reliable solution is to replace it. |
One of the pipes in the washing machine is leaking . Most often, the drain pipe "suffers" due to the ingress of sharp objects from the pockets of laundry during washing. | Replacement of the branch pipe is required. | |
The washing machine tank is leaking. | Replacement of the tank is required if it is collapsible. Otherwise, the machine cannot be repaired. | |
Aquastop clicks, an AE error occurs, but there is no water in the pan. | The leakage protection system (Aqvastop) is defective | Repair or replacement of Aquastop is required |
#5 LG Washing Machine CE Error Code
The LG washing machine with the screen has stopped and the display shows the CE error
LG CE Error Code Explanation
The washing machine is experiencing an overload.
How to fix it yourself
- If the CE error occurs during the wash or spin phase, the load may be overweight. Interrupt the program, remove some of the laundry from the drum and try restarting the wash program.
- The electronic controller (control board) may have malfunctioned. Unplug your LG clipper for 10-20 minutes to reboot the control module and then plug it back in.
Possible malfunctions requiring repair
The following table lists the most common LG washing machine problems that cause the CE error to appear on the display.
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
The CE error is displayed at the beginning of the washing phase, even when the machine is started without laundry. The breakage is also accompanied by the smell of burnt plastic. On units with Direct Drive, the drum may jerk with this error code. | There is a problem with the washing machine motor. | Replacement of the stator of the electric motor is required. |
The washing machine makes a loud noise, rattles. A metallic grinding noise may be heard. The CE error can appear both during the washing phase and during spinning. On direct drive models, the drum may jerk. | The bearing of the washing machine is worn out due to moisture ingress or a long service life. If the bearing is badly damaged, then an error code will pop up already at the washing stage. If the destruction has begun recently, then an error code will appear during the spinning phase. | Replacement of the oil seal and bearing is required. |
CE error appears during washing, rinsing or spinning phase, drum of LG washing machine jerks (for DirectDrive models). | The tachometer (also called a Hall sensor or tachogenerator) is out of order. | Hall sensor replacement required. |
The error appears during the washing, rinsing or spinning phase. May also smell like burning from the washing machine control unit. | The control board is faulty - the electronic "brain" of the washing machine. | If the processor of the control unit is in working order, it is enough to do with repairs: re-solder the burnt-out elements of the unit. If the processor is "burnt out" it will be necessary to replace the control board. |
#6 LG Washing Machine FE Error Code
The LG washing machine with a display has stopped or is constantly drawing and draining water, and the error FE is displayed on the screen. Most often, the error lights up during a water intake, but sometimes there are cases of occurrence during the washing or rinsing stages.
Depending on the model, in LG washing machines without a display, with this error, the following may flash or light up at the same time :
- LEDs for pre- and main wash
- indicators synthetics, wool and duvet (duvet)
LG FE Error Code Explanation
The washing machine has encountered a tank overflow error, the water level has reached the maximum allowed value.
How to fix LG FE Error Code by yourself
- Excessive foam formation could have caused the error. Drain the water, open the washing machine and check if there is a lot of foam in the drum. The reason for increased foaming can be a poor-quality powder, washing porous items (for example, tulle), exceeding the permissible weight of the loaded laundry, and some others. In this case, remove the laundry from the machine and let it dry for at least a day.
- There may be a malfunction in the washing machine control unit. Try unplugging the machine and plugging it back in after 10 to 20 minutes.
Possible malfunctions requiring repair
Below is a list of breakdowns that could have caused the FE error in the LG washing machine.
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
The FE error is on, and the LG machine is constantly picking up and draining water | The inlet valve of the water supply to the washing machine is out of order, because of which it passes water in the closed position and an overflow occurs. | Typically, the valve allows "excess" water to pass through due to the loss of flexibility of its diaphragm or a weakening of the stem spring. The valve cannot be repaired; it needs to be replaced. |
The washing machine has drained the water and stopped after starting to wash, or is continuously filling up with water. The FE error code on the screen is lit. | The pressure switch (water level sensor), which measures the water level in the washing machine, is faulty. | Sometimes the malfunction lies in the blockage of the pressure switch tube. It is enough to blow it out and the level sensor will work. Otherwise, it will be necessary to replace the pressure sensor (pressure switch). |
The LG machine stopped during the washing or rinsing process and gave a PU error. In this case, the water could both remain in the tank, and the unit could drain the water. | The control unit (programmer) is out of order - a microcircuit that "controls" the washing machine. | Often, with this error, the tracks on the board "burn out" or other elements responsible for the operation of the pressure switch fail. Then it will be enough to "solder" the tracks and replace the faulty elements of the controller. In case of severe burning on the board or processor failure, it will need to be replaced. |
An FE error has occurred during the wash or rinse phase. When starting the program again, the washing machine immediately gives an error and does not start washing. | The wiring from the control module (programmer or electronic controller) to the pressure switch is frayed. | You will need to twist the broken wires and insulate the twist or completely replace the wiring loop from the control board to the pressure sensor. |
#7 LG Washing Machine 1E Error Code
You have loaded laundry into the LG washing machine, started a washing program, but you do not hear the usual sound of water taking in and do not see that the tank is filling.
And after a few minutes an IE error appears on the display. In some cases, the machine still fills with water, but for a suspiciously long time.
And the result is almost the same – there is not enough water in the washing machine drum and the same IE error on the screen. Some users read this error as 1E due to the similarity of the characters I and 1.
In an LG washing machine without a screen, this error will cause the main and prewash indicators to light up or flash at the same time .
LG 1E Error Code Explanation
The IE (Inlet Error) code means that the LG washing machine for some reason was unable to draw water within the allotted time.
The cause of the error could be both elementary carelessness and serious malfunctions requiring the intervention of a professional washing machine repairman .
How to fix LG 1E Error Code by yourself
- Check if there is water in the tap. It may have been turned off or blocked. The water supply should be restored.
- Check the shut-off valve that blocks the water from entering the washing machine. You may have forgotten to open it before washing. Do it.
- There are frequent cases when the shut-off valve is open “not filled”. In this case, the washing machine takes water for a long time, and then gives an error 1E, without starting to wash. Therefore, be sure to open the shut-off valve “all the way”.
- A weak water pressure in the water supply system can also be the reason why the LG washing machine does not have time to collect water in the allotted time, and leads to an error. Restore water pressure.
- It is possible that the inlet hose, through which water enters the washing machine, is kinked or squashed. Spread it out.
- Perhaps the filter mesh, which is located at the point where the inlet hose is connected to the washing machine, is clogged and protects it from the ingress of small particles contained in the tap water. In this case, the LG machine will take too little water and give an error 1E. Remove and clean the filter mesh by placing it in a citric acid solution for 1-2 hours.
- Try unplugging your clipper for 15 to 20 minutes and then plugging it back in. There may be a failure in the control unit.
Possible malfunctions requiring repair
The table below summarizes the most common failures that lead to a 1E error in an LG washing machine. The list of breakdowns is based on the personal experience of engineeringsadvice masters
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
The LG machine does not pick up (in rare cases, it floods a little water) and issues an IE code | The inlet valve, which is responsible for supplying water to the washing machine, is faulty. It does not open on a signal from the control unit, and water does not flow into the machine. In rare cases, the valve may open slightly, then the machine will collect little water. | Replacement of the water supply valve is required. |
The washing machine does not receive water and an IE error is lit. | The pressure switch (water level switch), which controls the amount of water in the washing machine, is out of order. | The pressure switch tube could get clogged, in this case it is enough to blow it out. If the reason is not a blockage, then the pressure switch will need to be replaced. |
Does not fill with water and issues code 1E. | The control board (electronic controller) is faulty - a microcircuit that "controls" the operation of the washing machine. | In 90% of cases, the control module can be repaired. It is enough to replace the burned-out triac or relays that control the operation of the intake valve and / or solder the tracks. In rare cases, it may be necessary to replace the electronic controller. |
#8 LG Washing Machine PE Error Code
You are trying to start a program, but the LG washing machine shows a PE error on the display and refuses to erase. Perhaps the first time the PE error appeared during washing, rinsing or spinning, and now it occurs constantly.
In LG models without a screen, this error is indicated by the wash, rinse and spin indicators – they are all on or blinking at the same time .
LG PE Error Code Explanation
The PE code means that there is a problem with the level sensor (pressure switch), which measures the amount of water in the drum. The LG washing machine “does not understand” how much water is in the tank and does not start washing.
PE is a rather rare error, and the decoding itself tells about where to look for the cause of its occurrence. Nevertheless, sometimes it is not at all a breakdown of the water level switch (pressure switch), and the error can be eliminated on your own.
PE error – when you can fix it yourself
- If the error occurs for the first time, try unplugging the clipper for 10 to 15 minutes and then plugging it back in. It is possible that there was a failure in the control module – the brains of the LG machine, and a reboot will help get rid of it.
- If the washing machine draws and immediately drains water, and then issues the PE code, then the reason may be an incorrect installation. The drain is located below the level of the machine’s tank, so the water flows by gravity into the sewer, and an error appears. Connect the washing machine to the sewer correctly yourself or use the installation service of the washing machine from TechnoBytService.
- Check the connections of the loops of the wires going to the pressure switch. Perhaps they have moved away and need to be corrected.
If the above tips did not help fix the PE error, then a breakdown has occurred and your LG washing machine needs professional repair.
Probable malfunctions requiring repair
Based on more than 5000 repairs of LG washing machines, we have collected in the table the most popular breakdowns that TechnoBytService masters encountered with a PE error.
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
The LG washing machine does not start washing and issues a PE code. | In 80 - 90% of cases, the pressure switch is faulty, which controls the water level in the washing machine tank. | Sometimes it is enough to blow through the pressure switch tube if it is clogged. In other cases, replacement of the level sensor is required. |
The LG machine gives an error code immediately after pressing the START (START) button or during the execution of a program. | The control unit is out of order - a microcircuit that controls the operation of the washing machine. | If the elements responsible for controlling the water level sensor burned out in the block, it is enough to get by with its repair. If the processor of the unit fails or if the chip burns out and melts, it will need to be replaced. |
In the LG typewriter, the PE error appears and disappears. | Very often this is due to damage to the wiring inside the washing machine. I rubbed the loop of wires in the area from the control module to the pressure switch. Therefore, with vibrations during the operation of the machine, contact appears and disappears. | The problem is eliminated by twisting the broken wires or replacing the loop. When twisting, the joint is insulated with heat shrinkage. |
#9 LG Washing Machine PF Error Code
You started the washing program as usual, and after a while you found that the LG washing machine stopped and displays a PF error on the screen.
LG PF Error Code Explanation
The PF code means that a power failure occurred on the control board during the execution of the program.
In most cases, the reason for the appearance of PF on the display should be sought not in the washing machine, but in the power supply problems of your house or apartment.
Power outages or power surges most often lead to this error. Therefore, if PF occurred once and does not repeat anymore, do not pay attention. Most likely, you just turned off the light. Press the START button to continue the program or start a new wash.
If a PF error occurs:
- on a specific program, every wash;
- during each wash on any program;
- regularly, but without much pattern
then something is faulty, either in the washing machine or in the electricity from which the unit is powered. Let’s figure it out.
PF Error in LG – what to do, how to fix it yourself
- Check if the electrical connection of the washing machine is correct and secure. The socket for the machine must be connected to a separate power line with its own machine. It is not allowed to connect the washing machine to the network through extension cords or sockets that are used for other household partings.
- Check the power cord and outlet plug; they may be damaged and need to be replaced.
- Unplug the clipper for 10 to 15 minutes and then plug it back on. The electronic controller (control board) may have failed.
- Check the voltage in the mains, often the LG machine shows the PF code in case of undervoltage. If suspicion is confirmed, call an electrician.
- Check the power supply circuit from the noise filter to the electronic controller inside the washing machine. Perhaps the wire connections have moved away due to which the contact disappears and an error lights up.
Nothing helped? LG washing machine still reports PF error? This means that the fault lies in the washing machine itself.
#10 LG Washing Machine Error Code tE
After starting up the LG washing machine, it took in water, and the drum began to rotate as usual – the washing began. But after a few minutes the machine suddenly stopped rooted to the spot and gave an error tE on the display. You may have also touched the washer hatch and found it suspiciously cold, even though you selected a hot wash mode.
For some LG users, the letter “t” in the error code looks more like an inverted letter “F”.
In LG models without a screen, this error is indicated by the temperature indicators, they all light up or flash at the same time .
LG tE Error Code Explanation
The tE ( Temperature Error ) code means that there is a problem in the heating circuit. The LG washing machine cannot heat the water and therefore interrupts the wash and displays an error.
Note! Programs that do not require hot water can be run well, so if you get the tE error and you really need to wash your clothes, select the cold wash mode.
Unfortunately, the tE error most often signals a malfunction and requires the intervention of a professional technician, but sometimes you can fix the error yourself.
Error tE – what to do when you can handle it yourself
- Unplug the washing machine from the mains for 10 to 20 minutes, then plug it back in and start washing. Perhaps there was a “glitch” in the control module (electronic controller), which will be reset after unplugging from the socket.
- Check the wiring between the heating element and the control module (the microcircuit that controls the operation of the washing machine), in rare cases it happens that the contacts of the loop of wires connecting these two nodes of the washing machine have come off. Correct them.
If the above recommendations did not help to fix the tE error, then your LG machine has a breakdown.
Possible malfunctions requiring repair
The table below contains a list of breakdowns that, according to the experience of EngineeringAdvice, could have caused the tE error in an LG machine and require a call to a repair technician.
Symptoms of the error | Probable cause of occurrence | Repair or replacement |
---|---|---|
The LG washing machine does not heat the water, freezes during the wash process and displays a tE error. | In 80% of cases, with this error, the heating element (heating element) fails, through which the water in the washing machine heats up to the set temperature. | Heating element replacement required. |
The LG machine shows the tE code and does not erase. Most often, the error appears in the wash mode. | The control module is faulty - the microcircuit, which is the "brain" of the washing machine. | As a rule, the control unit needs to be repaired. Most often, it burns out the elements responsible for controlling the heating element (triac, relay, transistor, etc.), which must be replaced. In rare cases, when the processor burns out, the control unit will need to be replaced. |
Aborts washing and displays an error. The water in the washing machine does not heat up. | A thermistor or temperature sensor is out of order, which measures the temperature of the water and is located either on the heating element or directly in the tank of the washing machine. | Sensor replacement required. |
In LG washing machines with the option to dry the laundry, the tE error occurs in the wash or dry mode, and the machine interrupts the program. | The drying sensor is defective, which measures the temperature during the drying process. | Replacement of the sensor is required. |
The LG typewriter sometimes erases normally on programs with water heating, and sometimes this error appears. | The wiring inside the washing machine is frayed from the heating element to the control module. Therefore, with vibrations, contact disappears, and an error appears. | It is necessary to twist the broken wires or completely replace the loop. In case of twisting, the twist must be carefully insulated. |
#12 LG Washing Machine SE or 5E Error Code
The LG washing machine fills with water after starting, but instead of washing, it writes an SE error on the display. The drum of the machine does not rotate in any of the programs (washing, rinsing or spinning). The error is typical for LG models:
- Direct Drive
- belt drive and three-phase silent motor
Often, users of LG typewriters call this error 5E because of the visual similarity of the letter “S” and the number “5”.
LG SE or 5E Error Code Explanation
SE code means there is a problem with the motor. For some reason, the motor shaft does not rotate, so the LG washing machine does not spin the drum.
Despite the “harsh” decoding, in fact, the source of the problem may not lie in the motor at all, but in another node. The SE error only states the fact that the motor shaft cannot be rotated, but does not report what is actually faulty. Moreover, sometimes the cause of the error can be a “trivial” problem that you can fix yourself.
SE or 5E error – what to do, how to fix it yourself
- The electronics module may have failed. Try unplugging the washing machine from the mains for 10 to 15 minutes, then plugging it back in and starting the wash.
- Check the tightness of all connections on the motor and the connections of the loop wires from the motor to the control board. Occasionally it happens that contacts have gone away, and it is necessary to correct them.
If the error still appears every wash, then, unfortunately, you cannot do without the help of a professional washing machine repairman.
#13 LG Washing Machine Error Code CL
You have loaded the laundry into the machine, selected a program and pressed the Start button. But instead of the usual murmur of water, there is silence, and the error code CL is lit on the display of the LG washing machine.
Decoding the error
The CL code on the LG machine display means that the Child Lock function is activated. This mode is designed to block all buttons except the POWER button from accidental pressing and changing the washing program by children.
You may have forgotten that you activated this function in the last wash. It is possible that other household members have turned on the child lock. Or the function was activated by accident.
Anyway, don’t worry, the CL code is not an error. This is an informational message.
How to remove CL error in LG washing machine
To do this, press and hold simultaneously for 3-4 seconds two buttons marked with the “nipple” icon or baby’s face with a lock. Depending on the model of your machine, these may be buttons
- Super Rinse and Pre-wash
- Intensive wash and Extra rinse
- Temperature and one of the buttons Options
Other
For LG models with touch controls, to unlock the lock, you must hold for 3-4 seconds one of the main function keys, under which there is a note with an asterisk “Child lock”. For example, it can be buttons “No folds” or “Delayed wash”.
Who is comfortable with the child lock mode?
Those who have a small child who strives to touch and “poke” everything. It turns on in the same way as it turns off – by simultaneously pressing two buttons marked with the “nipple” icon for several seconds. The child lock mode can only be activated during the washing process (after activating it, the LG machine writes CL on the screen). At the end of the cycle, the function remains active, therefore, the next wash, you must first deactivate the button lock.
#14 LG Washing Machine Error Code tcl
You loaded the laundry, closed the door of the washing machine, pressed the power button, but instead of the usual program data, the message “tcL” came on on the display. Washing does not start. What happened?
Decoding the error
The letter code “tcL” on the screen of the machine is not an error, but an informational message, stands for TUB CLEAN (from English – cleaning the drum).
It means that the washing machine recommends starting the “Drum Clean” option. This function is available in all modern LG washing machines.
And in models starting with the letters FH *******, the machine itself informs about the need for cleaning – the tcL code lights up on the display every 30 wash cycles.
What is the “Drum Clean” mode in the LG Display
The cleaning mode is necessary for the timely removal of residues of detergents and fine debris (fibers, hair) from the tank, drum and pipes. It is similar to a 60 ° C wash cycle, but more water is poured into the machine and the drum rotates at a higher speed.
The LG manufacturer indicates in the instructions that cleaning should be carried out every 30 cycles without any detergents. If you have hard water, you can add descaling agents to the detergent dispenser.
How to enable cleaning mode in your LG washing machine
In models starting with the letters FH *******, the cleaning recommendation will be displayed automatically as a tcL code on the display.
For other models, this mode can be activated by pressing the “Drum Clean” button or two keys with the “*” indicator simultaneously for 3 seconds (usually these are “Intensive” and “No folds” buttons ).
After pressing, the tcL code will be displayed on the screen, and the machine will stop responding to other commands. Make sure there are no items in the washing machine and press the Start / Pause button – the machine will start cleaning.
How to fix tcL error in LG washing machine
Since the tcL code is an “invitation” to clear the drum, you can:
- Press “Start”. The machine will run the cleaning cycle (about an hour and a half) and offer to repeat it only after 30 cycles of operation.
- Turn off the clipper with the power button . In this case, the washer will regard your actions as a refusal. If you turn on the machine after 5 minutes, the tcL code will no longer be displayed on the screen, and you can choose the washing mode you need.
Note! If the power button fails to clear the tcL error , we recommend that you additionally unplug the plug from the outlet for 5 to 10 minutes. This will help you to get rid of the error for sure.
