E3 | Water heating failure. The water is not heated or the heating parameters are incorrect. Repeat the washing program; if the problem persists, please contact the after-sales service. |
E 4 | Water temperature monitoring malfunction. Interrupt the program and turn off the dishwasher. Turn the dishwasher back on, program it again and start the washing cycle. |
E5 | Water intake failure. The machine does not or does not fill water properly. Check that the water connections are correct, the water intake tap is open and the filter is not dirty. |
E6 | Water drainage malfunction. The machine does not drain the water or does it incorrectly. Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or squashed, and that the siphon and filter are not dirty. |
E7 | Turbine flow regulator failure. The machine is not able to accurately “measure” the amount of water loaded. Interrupt the program and turn off the dishwasher. Turn the dishwasher back on, program it again and start the washing cycle. |
E8 | Alternative washing system failure. Interrupt the program and turn off the dishwasher. Turn the dishwasher back on, program it again and start the washing cycle. |

F1 | Start of the test. Close the door and the machine will refill, if the motor is broken, it will stop prematurely. |
C1 | Check the filling. When the machine is full, open the door and then close it again. The machine will continue operating after approximately five seconds. |
C2 | Dispenser control. When filling is complete, the soap dispenser will turn on for approximately one minute. The lower spray arm is in operation at this stage. |

In the event of an alarm, the device interrupts the running program and indicates the fault.
- Alarms E1, E2, E3, E4, E8 and E9 interrupt the current program immediately.
- Alarms E5, E6 interrupt the running program after removing the cause, which will cause Bach to execute the program.
- Alarm E7 is visualized at the end of the cycle, which, however, comes to an end as the operation of the dishwasher is not affected.
In order to “Reset” an alarm is needed: open and close the door or switch the machine off and on. At this point, it is possible to program the dishwasher again. If the fault persists, contact an Authorized Service Center.
Troubleshooting the Smeg dishwasher
